An interesting development we're seeing here at Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury Lids is increased investment by the supermarkets in 'own-label' or 'retailer-branding' as they look to compete with branded products. For us this brings new challenges when producing lids, but also an opportunity to demonstrate our technical print expertise and commitment to working closely with customers to deliver unique packaging solutions that make an impact.
A good example of this is a pre-cut lid project that we're currently working on with a client for a major supermarket chain. We've produced custom and NEW colours for an existing retailer brand range which will be re-launched in the supermarket over the coming months. Our technical lids team have been directly involved in helping to achieve the new colour standard for this range. With this type of requirement it's essential that we get a good match so that the print on the lid is consistent and matches with the container.  It is important for the client that the NEW branding colourways are consistent across all of the packaging, recognisable, and appealing to the consumer. We expect to see a lot more of this type of work as companies look at ways of utilising pack design to differentiate their products.
